Where is the CEO? We are tried of waiting!! : Mon Feb 23, 2009 5:02 pm
If QRL were a public company their would have been a riot by the shareholders by now. We are a 'rudderless' ship - and boy how it show's - as it's been nearly 8 months since the Board started to look for a replacement. :!:

As an aside think questions need to be asked as to why also no new director/investors have been recruited.

Perhaps the RFL and Richard Lewis need to step in and sort out the CEO search and, in addition, the selection of the marketing manager.

Also wonder when our current Chairman might 'grace' a Fan's Forum evening or is he worried by the possibility of both a 'roasting' and being unable to answer questions that might be asked.

Paul Wright has been part of the club, effectively as Finance Director, for several years. He is, I think, an associate of IL having worked for his group of companies.

Problems are easy to find. We need to employee someone who can find solutions.

mmm....and there is the crux of it!

The RFL paid for the marketing for the Manly Game and reaped the financial benefit. Now, if the club (who are still relying on the assistance of the RFL in some key areas) do not see the money, time and effort spent on Manly as well spent, we may as well give up now.

IF we had 6,000 there, then that's a minimum of £90,000 in ticket revenue. I doubt we would have seen more than 2,000 without the marketing, so we gained £60,000 in gate receipts for whatever we spent on marketing. This does not take into account the money taken over the bar, but my group of 4 had 5 drinks each, so if we take 50% of this as an average, then that's £8 a pop....or another £56,000 on the bars....Can you see where this is going?

As for the CEO.....I believe that we have been far too picky, or have just misunderstood what is required. The club is understaffed in the back office and whilst I applaud the community team and the playing and coaching staff, the back office needs addressing as a matter of urgency.

Still Mr Hughes is a hero and long may that continue.

Can we get the headline changed from we are tired of waiting to I am tired of waiting. Personally I'm happy. We looked solid against gas and our first team showed good touches against the top squad from the Nrl. Dunno why having a CEO makes any difference. Who gives about the clubs backroom staff. Seems to me people should spend more time going to games than whinging about stuff that doesn't matter. But then again most minority sports fans are clueless morons anyway...
