Surely we should be able to get some column space even if its only once a week tagged in with the union in the metro/lite? I know it might take a bit of leg work, but I find it hard to beleive that if we continually threw out Press Releases to them that were ready to run that it wouldnt be picked up.

Alas, there is a pre-occupation with the round ball and a begrudging mention of the rah rah game in all of the London Press, but that's about it.
I understand that there were many many many invitations sent to Journos for the manly game, but most invitees were "busy" on Sunday. Short of sending a limo to pick some of these people up and getting them laid, we are pi55ing against the wind by simply trying to PR our way into the public concienceness.....
On the other hand, if we were simply to offer a match day sponsorship, together with 250 free tickets, 3 Boxes for the management and maybe a free beer voucher for each of the 250 staff, to either London Lite or The London Paper with NO STRINGS ATTACHED, I am fairly confident that they may start to receive our press releases more favourably. Money is tight at the club, but some form of contra deal (Barter card esque) might be the way forward.

I understand the situation that the club is in regarding the way the london press works. Reading comments by the journos in the free friday rag the sport proves the 'descrimination' against the sport in this city.

Having worked to change the attitudes of editors previously, you are right, its all about the contra. Occasionally flooding the paper with the offer of winning tickets. Giving the editors and journos money cant buy experiences, a bit of corporate hospitality or invites to golf days occasionally and a few tickets here and there. It can be a struggle, but it doesnt have to cost the world.

From my limited time in the city, the metro would be the ones to target initially as they seem to have more column space dedicated for sport. They even ran decent stories throughout the world cup.

I don't know about anyone else, but im starting to worry there might be a low turn out for this game. Simple reason is there has been nothing on the Quins web site to say anything about ticket sales, where as in the past we have done this when saleing well for certain games.(i.e St's and Wigan)

You would have think that they would have put on site that Radio London going to be there for this game.

I am hoping im wrong in all this and it just down to to busy to update web site .But it be a shame for the team if it does turn out to be low and not only that a bit embarrassing for the club to and may put in doult any chance of repeating this fixture for next year. :(

Well I was able to buy tickets yesterday and they were in bay AD, this could suggest sluggish sales.

I think minimum attendance for Sunday to stave off embarassment is 6,500 - 7,000. Anything below 6,500 would be just awful.

for what is, to all intents and purposes, a pre-season friendly?

Madness.

IMO we will get 5,000......and believe me, I am not chuffed with this fugure, but we have sold enough pre-booked tickets for me to believe this is the figure we will achieve.
As it is, I am depressed already because this is another "lost" opportunity and due to the tunnel vision of some people at the club (or lack of the correct people at the club), no money is made available to M-A-R-K-K-E-T the club/game/experience.
5,000 max for this game....which means it may well be our best crowd of the season
I hope I am wrong....I really do.
