I still believe the blind devotion that certain fans have shown to the club after the absolute clusterfiicking mess that Hughes and his African Gimp made of a perfectly serviceable SL club is deserving of ridicule. Flack? Nah....it's not Flack. It's a healthy dose of realism, which some of you 40+ year old males need to have administered with your flue jabs every year…. The collective masturbation at the implication that I may have been wrong embarrasses a fair few posters on here.....and you are most definitely in that collective. :SUBMISSION:

So I said "I view it as a real positive. That alone is enough to ensure I take a load of flack from some quarters." And you honestly think that justifies your response with it's thinly disguised expletives, graphic language, and patronising emotions?

Indeed I did. I was maybe a tad over-zealous in my prediction for the demise of the club, but it would seem that Mr Hughes has decided to continue to bankroll the club indefinitely.

Unfortunately for the club and its supporters, this means 2nd tier League in a smaller venue against less fashionable teams, with less supporters in attendances and a snowballs chance in hell of either attracting new investment at the level required, nor sponsors of the caliber to lift the clubs profile.

This of course will be applauded by some as us "finding our level", but the applause will not be heard as it will be from regular fans that number in the low hundreds.

And whilst you're reaching for another box of Kleenex, I suggest you temper your unbridled joy at both a second tier existence with my being wrong as to the death of the club with a healthy dose of realism.

We are now a 2nd tier outfit that is 100% reliant on the benevolence of 1 man......nothing has changed other than the division we play in, our attractiveness to cash paying customers and our market value to sponsors. Victories over lesser teams will be hailed as proof that we are better off........
........yet I recall a season 10 years ago that saw us stick 70 on Wakey, Leigh and Widnes (well close) and make the play-offs....it was the season we nearly folded but one that ended with real hope for our future under a new owner, in a new ground with a new name and real prospects. We has a national brand as our shirt sponsor and the word "partner" in terms of an associated company didn't exist. We had close to 4,000 fans and "we were LONDON". Now we are a team watched by 40+ year old men.......akin to a sporting version of Train Spotting. RL is an acquired taste...we've all tried to get our friends to games over the last 30+ years and now all that's left is the bare bones......I won't be overly zealous this time, but I will say that whilst victories over Halifax and Hunslet will keep some happy, the "some" will be less than those who preferred to watch us play Wigan.....even if it was to get hammered....and gradually that number will reach the level attained by the skolars....a team that had less than 10% of our support back in 2005......

So grab your Kleenex and enjoy the moment. The truth is I was warning the club, its owners and its fans that this would happen since before I even attended a game and no matter if Hughes's guilt keeps us afloat for another 10 years or more, I was spot on.
No, you weren't "a tad over-zealous", you were plain wrong.

As for the rest of your blethering above, where is The Cranewife when we need her?

too loving right I bloody do :BLAH: :SUBMISSION: :CURTAIN:

Did my reference to masturbation upset the puritan branch of the David Hughes fan club, of which you are no doubt chairperson? Maybe if you love off and whine to the moderators some more they will ignore you again?

I often stand alone on here, confronted by a wall of bland acceptance that supposes to represent the true fans of the club, whilst the reality is there aren't very many fans left......they all got very fed up with watching Hughes et al destroy THEIR club and listening to a few sad wankers applauding him for doing it. Some say they no longer post here because of me and my incessant negativity, but the reality is they don't post here because they too have given up on this cripple of a club. What you and your bland on-line amigos fail to see is I still support the club with the same passion I have for over 10 years, but unlike you, I refuse to accept the bollox that Hughes is churning out as some sort of master pan for our future. He loved up, he knows he loved up, but so long as loving idiots like you continue to applaud, he'll continue to feel less guilty for loving up the club.

FWIW, I honestly believe that if those running the club showed 50% of the passion I have over the years then this conversation wouldn't be happening....we'd still be in SL, we'd be averaging more than 5k and we'd certainly not be playing out of a non-league soccer stadium come training facility. But you mistake this passion for negativity.

They say that unhappy customers complain by not coming back.................you look at the last few years figures and tell me what a wonderful loving job Hughes has done at the club.

Sorry if the above contains too much reality wrapped in expletives that are either disguised or not. :SUBMISSION:

I have never "applauded David Hughes" for his running of the club. I have never once approached a moderator about anyone or anything. But it seems you are so desperate to drive people off these forums that you are now prepared to tell lies about them.

Your last "dose of realism" was to tell us the club were homeless next year (the title of the thread gives it away) and someone who actually knows what's going on was able to tell us that you were wrong. You'd just made it up. And that's what really drives your anger. There are posters here who can tell us what's going on at the club now, whereas you can only tell us what was going on at the club ten years ago. You used to crow about having Gus's phone number, now you're reduced to making up stories about us being homeless. You're nothing more than yesterday's man crowing about how great he once was.

The true irony is, you're exactly like David Hughes. He's killing the club through arrogance, and you're killing these forums through arrogance. Two sides of the same coin.

As I said a lot earlier in this thread, the title was a little ambiguous but the reality is that 2015 was renegotiated so I was correct. As for killing the forum.......if I were driving traffic away the sites owners would act......the reality is that we have shed posters because of Hughes idiotic running of the club.......but it's convienient to blame me so knock yourself out.....it patently helps you sleep better at night

An inability to realise and admit when you're wrong, another trait you share with Mr Hughes.

On the contrary. I freely admit it when I am wrong. As I have repeated, the essence of this thread was 100% accurate but the title a tad sensationalist. Your clinging to the hope that I was wrong like some half inflated liferaft shows how desperate you are. At the time posted this thread, the hive had told the club that the contract for 2015 was not going to be as agreed in 2013.....without Hughes stepping up we would have been homeless.

quick correction

The last Championship team to beat a SL team was Featherstone against castleford in 2012 Challenge cup.

They then went on to play Wigan and lost by 16 points where a superb performance from Gareth Hock was the difference.

also last season leigh pushed leeds close and would probably have beaten a lesser team

Indeed, Leigh were excellent that night - a win would not have flattered them!

One time a thread like this that was Not The Truth, would have been locked by the moderators, but no even today it allowed to continue?

There is no getting away from the fact that many loyal fans of Our Club from last season do not post any longer! I still visit the site daily, but just post when really relevant, the free enjoyable debate we used to have seems to have gone, it needs to be restored once again.
