Life is pretty simple: You do stuff. Most fails. Some works. You do more of what works.

Re: v FEATHERSTONE : Sat Apr 20, 2013 7:55 pm
Featherstone came with a game plan and stuck to it. Closed us down. Hit Gower at every opportunity, late a few times but also ensuring he ended up doing a lot of tackling. They played well and controlled the ball well throughout the first half. They were up for it and we were a bit lifeless. Joked on way we'd spill the ball from kick off and err.

Bit more passion and more importantly controlled the ball when we had it. Started to play our sets and had better field position. Dorm coming on gave far more penetration. A win is a win and hopefully they learn from it.

Shocking attendance today at just 1,217. Even the Hemel Stags v Wakey game got 2,456.

Not much between the two teams but we got ground down in the second half and once the first London try came we buckled ever so slightly

With a game changing substitution of Luke Dorn into the action after 55 mins and a young winger in Keiran Dixon, who we failed to handle all day London just deserved to win and advance for me

We just didnt get enough points on the board in a first half dominated by us, we had enough pressure and chances just couldnt take any

But it was still a great effort and a wonderful day out, that little bit of extra quality made the difference today for me

Yes well done today for getting the win. Thought we played well and had a chance of winning but once Luke Dorn came on he made the difference for you and won it with Dixon as well.

Had a good day out good luck in the draw for the next round

Well a win is a win and might help confidence, but that was another poor performance. Professional Super League players shouldn't be hiding from the ball at kick off, passing into touch, not chasing kicks, and so on. There is a malaise within this group of players who, with the exception of Dixon, look as though they would rather be somewhere else.

Agreed. Awful 1st half. didn't complete a set until after 15 mins. Camped on our own line far too long , gave them too many repeat sets with penalties and drop outs. No line breaks.

2nd half we were quicker and remembered how to play. Like Dollapi, young , got a lot go forward . Some of the other forwards can only play for less than 40 minutes which is disappointing given their pedigree. Dorn's second try , from a grubber kick was brilliant. Fev carved through us twice easily in he centres, scoring one.

Surprised with 1200 crowd, thought about 800 with 300 from Fev. At least our reduced gate , percentage wise, is less than some of the' heartland teams' , when you don't get the game in the season ticket, for the cup games.
.
Home tie against a championship side please.

Thought the Fev number 4, Greg Worthington was excellent. Looked like a proper centre, not much meat on him but he gave us problems all afternoon. Wonder if he fancies the smoke?

Fev played well. If they had the team today they have had for the previous year or two, we would have lost.

Not defending the Broncos crowd, but that Hemel game was switched to Wakey :-)

Our last 'home' game attracted 1,400 and only drops to 1,200. Widnes as an example get 1,900 after a last home game of neigh on 6 k crowd.
