Re: Warrington Match Thread : Sun Feb 07, 2010 7:45 pm
One common thread here is the coach and he as to take the present (and past) performance on the chin. We had a team last year playing well then all for whatever reason fell apart in dramatic fashion. We are two games into the new season and nothing has changed and maybe is worse given the present squad which seems weaker than last year. So what is the common theme, coaching: Why have we no attacking ideas; Ask the coach. Why can we not defend; Ask the coach, he is the person who takes responsibility. Yes we could say Mac has limited resources but is this a defence of the current position? Basically we had more or less the same team players last year and we performed. Why because they played for the coach and one another in team. Then what? Something happened last year in the dressing room (rumours of a split) and maybe Mac has lost the team, or at least he has no idea of what is wrong. A point he made at the end of last season.
Nothing has changed and today was depressing on the radio with comments “one try is too much Quins have no idea and not likely to score”. The same could be said last week we appeared to have no idea and I did not believe we had any idea of how to win. Why ask the coach, he is the person who sets the tone. Better still Mac has to consider his position and it is time for a radical change starting with his role
