It only became unacceptable when the club became Harlequins. I despise Rugby Union and did not want to watch a club with one of the most famous Union names in the world - it sickened me. Have you ever read 'The Forbidden Game' by Mike Rylance?

Were you happy sharing a ground and name with a football team though?



Putting older history to one side, would you accept that Union and League can now get on in there various forms.(and there is very little to be gained by holding grudges)



Did you watch LB at The Stoop in the past- was that acceptable

Suppse thats your issue to overcome - but in London, the Harlequins name is well respected, so if you wanted to find some converts to the game, at least they'd know the name and might already have some affinity.



Im not a fan of RU - but sometimes you have to do such things.

Read it and also lots of other stuff by Tony Collins including "A social history of English Rugby Union" which shows all the isms of that code - classism, racism, sexism you name it. It actually made me feel sad for the average union follower who wouldn't have a clue about such things or the origin of our great game.



I could understand where you are coming from 25 years ago Rupe but I think these days we have to move forward. If you care about our great game personally I would put that behind me, come and support the game (if not the team because of the name) and grow it down south so we can get bigger and better and expose kick and clap for what it is.

Stop being so petty. I don't like Union or have any interest in the sport, but I'm from London and I love Rugby League, so I am willing to support the club no matter what. Either swallow your pride or go somewhere else where you can whinge all you like.

29....that's the number of fans that we have "lost" since we moved to the stoop..........the average at Griffin Park was higher than the average at Charlton and the Stoop (part 1)....so your theory that the union tie in has affected us is proven to be rubbish.

Back on thread......get as many as you can to the game......and East Stander....it was a 267 bus from Brentford

Only two blocks are reserved. £15 lets you sit anywhere in the unreserved seating. Block AD is unreserved and pretty central.

Rupe you are shocking, if you dont want to come and watch then thats yr loss, stop trying to discourage new sport, some of us are quite happy watching SL rugby down here whatever the name.

I dont mind union and had a season ticket for a couple of years for Quins RU in our first incarnation - but it never really gripped me and once my son said he didnt want to go any more to see RU, just RL i let it lapse. I personally prefer London as a name, but we cannot walk away at the moment so we need to work on the relationship and get what we can out of it. I love the ground, its a proper rugby ground.



Lets just hope we aare still top of SL on Friday night!

The stoop is a rugby ground!! it has decent bar, decent bogs, the stand is pretty good, there are places to park, there is decent transport available, once the yawnion boys stop churning it up the playing surface is damn good.

Thats a lot more than can be said about Brentford, wooden dangerous stand crap bogs crap bar crap shop no parking!!

Honestly I would love London to be in the club name, it isnt, but i still get to watch SL rugby down here, call the club DAVE for all i care I AM WATCHING SL rugby in London, and the last 3 weeks have been brilliant

Rupe if the name is a problem then hey yr not a RL fan in my eyes, people had a shudderr when we brought in the Bulls, Rhinos, Giants etc!! But that has stuck
