GF-What does the crowd matter? The financial model has changed. AK benefits from attendance not LB.
Hughsey knows his liabilities as they are fixed.
Why do you keep ranting on about something that is Barnets issue
The attendances at the London Broncos directly influence the clubs future. AK has gone on record a number of times saying he will not invest in the London Broncos, so if we are to have any chance of survival in 2015 and beyond, we will need to attract a benefactor/investor to replace Hughes.
The agreement for the
Hive is for 1 year with the exact terms for the option of a second year still to be ironed out. AK has banked about 50k in ticketing revenue so far and has done little in the way of any Marketing. If we average 1,500 across the season, he'll have picked up 400k on the gate......after he takes his overheads out of that, it won't leave an awful lot to "plough into the club".
Attendances are not Barnet's issue...they are a massive piece of the jigsaw that is building London Broncos...AK has no interest in Rugby League other than flogging beer and chilli 13 more times a year. Your acceptance of this "new dawn" is frightening really.....no doubt you will follow the club next year in the championship and the following years as the downward spiral continues, but to do so "quietly" makes you as culpable as Hughes and MacKay in the demise of the club we both support.
Also, how many times have we heard that professional sportsmen and women respond to playing to a crowd? We have enough trouble attracting northerners south as it is, but the added "bonus" of playing to an audience of hundreds will make it even less appealing. This year we have a number of reserve grade 'stralians and a bunch of kids.....Moore is the exception to the rule and only because he's "trouble" in the eyes of other clubs.
New fans to the game are hardly going to come back because of the atmosphere created by 1,000 fans in a 80% empty arena....
