He seems to be the main kicker for Sheffield. Did he ever kick for us? A last-minute penalty goal from Mitchell Stringer sank Dewsbury 22-20 and earned Sheffield Eagles their first away win of the Co-operative Championship season. The Eagles were well on course for their third win in nine days when tries from Craig Cook, Stringer and Dane McDonald put them 14-4 ahead. But tries either side of half-time from James Lockwood and Andrew Bostock, both goaled by Pat Walker, to add to Ed Barber's earlier score, edged the Rams ahead for the first time at 16-14. I don't recall Mitchell Stringer ever kicking for us.

I saw Sheffield against Whitehaven at Bramall Lane a few weeks back and Tangi Ropati (I think we were linked with him last winter) was the main kicker in that game, but he was very poor and missed badly from a couple of not-too difficult kicks, so I suspect they may have some injuries involving their preferred kickers.

I noticed that former Broncos Academy prop Alex Rowe was playing for Sheffield last night too. Glad to see he's got himself back on track after a difficult period.

Johnny Woodcock is their regular kicker, and has been injured quite a bit this season. Stringer kicks semi-regularly for Sheffield.

I remember Mitch kicking a goal from the touchline in either the first or second capital challenge against the Skolars. It was the only time I saw him kick and he nailed it to give us a draw as I recall.

Now I come to think of it Stringer wasn't playing in the game I saw.
