Stop spouting the party line. He was offered peanuts ( yes it was more than anyone else his age at the club but 20 peanuts is not much more than 10 peanuts).
Our chief exec thought we could keep him on the cheap and that if anyone tried to sign him they would be put off with the compensation fee.
It all backfired when Hull knew how to get a round it so they could offer him more and have to pay no compensation.
Connor wanted to get out of the deal but could not and the only way we could get him back was to pay Hull money to re sign our own player.
Gross incompetence by the club.
