BARROW TO STRONG FOR YOUNG GIANTS
A young Huddersfield Giants side went down by went down by 48 points to 6 against Barrow in Sunday’s pre-season game. After a competitive first half Barrow over ran the Giants in the second period.
The Giants took the lead in the game with a try from Jacob Fairbank, which was converted by Gregg McNally and the young side were competitive until the break trailing by 14 points to 6.
Barrow’s experience and size proved too much for the youngsters in the second half and the Cumbrian side ended the 80 minutes running in ten tries. There were also two injury blows for Paul Cook’s team with Gregg McNally leaving the field with a badly broken nose and Keiran Murphy stretchered off with a suspected broken ankle.
