St George, wearing the district colours of red and white, played in the NSWRL's Third Grade competition in 1910, and formed a President's Cup team in 1911. Huddersfield are expected to make a longer-term move for Brett Finch, the Australian scrum-half who was released from his Parramatta contract last week. Finch has joined Melbourne for the rest of this season but would be free to join the Giants next year.
