If London is Athens, Yorkshire is Sparta, a tougher community and proud of it.

Brown's comments to me say he sees Kev as a stand off, personally.

"He is an improving player and this season we have solely tried to put him in one position.”

He's played stand off this season, all season.

Browny is still young so he has plenty of time on his side and hopefully this coaching team can finally bring out his full potential over the next 3 years.

You could be right i just interpreted it in a different way

"He is an improving player and this season we have solely tried to put him in one position.

"There are some things about Kevin's game that are developing, he is a good running player and supporting player and his passing is improving.

"As he plays more football he will continue to develop the consistency of getting the balance right between these three.
"This will all come with experience as he settles into one position and he is definitely showing improvement in all key areas of his game."

i would like to see things like organising abilty, attacking flair, kicking game and ability to break down defences as being pre requisites for a good no6. If we can get a no 7 who does those things then they may complement each other

in light of the fact that our current centres are on old man from Leeds and a dubious character from wigan. he has as much chance as anyone else.

Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.

Good Points - Vision, offloads, kicking getting better year on year same with defence, passing, speed etc

Not so good points - Organising and needs to get more involved.

At present centre would be his best position if he worked on his defence because he has the attacking ability its just his defence, which is good but to be an international centre you need to have a solid defence.

6 would be his best position if he organised more, bossed it a bit and got involved more as he has all the skills in his locker to play 6 he just needs to apply them more.

In my opinion he is a 6 but needs a better 7 to work with as he has improved a lot since the arrival of Brett Hodgeson, if Danny Brough is signed by Hudds  then I think we will see a better Brown at 6.

I agree that Brown's position is centre.

However, I strongly disagree about his defence. He is as good as most. It's his attacking vision which, IMHO, lets him down at SO.

2012 SL SEASON

WWLW

: Tue Jul 21, 2009 10:08 am
KEVIN BROWN celebrated the signing of a new deal by helping the Giants beat Warrington at the weekend and declared: “Now we’ve got to kick on!”

The 24-year-old utility back last week put pen to paper on a three-year contract extension and was then at the heart of Sunday’s 28-10 Super League home triumph over the Wolves.

That 14th victory of the season strengthened Huddersfield’s third place in the top-flight table ahead of Sunday’s home clash against Catalans Dragons.

And Brown is convinced there can be even more reasons to celebrate at the Galpharm in the next few months and years to come.

“It’s great to have this new deal, because this is a fantastic club to be at,” he said.

“Ever since I arrived from Wigan (in mid-2006) the club has got stronger and stronger, and Nathan (Brown) has brought an extra dimension to our game. That was apparent with the win over Warrington at the weekend.

“We work really had for each other and Baloo (assistant coach Paul Anderson) is doing a fantastic job for us on defence.

Bowny made some cracking tackles on Sunday, and in attack close in you always have to think he can make the line.

Very strong player and good on him.
