NEW COACH GARDNER SET TO GROW

Bramley Buffaloes new Head Coach Peter Roe has hailed his recently appointed Assistant Coach, Chris Gardner, as "black and amber to the core with the ability to go a long way in Rugby League as a coach."

Roe, who has recently taken charge at the Co-operative Conference National club, has handed Gardner the chance to make his first steps in the coaching game after a playing career in the professional ranks with Bradford Northern, the original Bramley RLFC and Keighley Cougars as well as over 100 appearances and exactly 100 points in seven years with the Buffaloes.

"Chris has become a firm favourite with all Bramley fans for his 100% commitment on the park since the club reformed in 2004 and he only has to look at the progress made into the professional game by previous coaches Mark Butterill and Paul Cook for inspiration.

"He knows Bramley and loves the club and I'm looking forward to working with him," added Peter.

Chris, a 36 year old who hails from Horsforth and manages a large Audio Visual Business in Bradford, exclaimed: "This is a fantastic opportunity with a club that is built on very special foundations being owned by the supporters and wider community.

"It's also a club that has a special place in the history of Rugby League and, we hope, in the future as a new pyramid structure begins to take shape. We are ambitious here and although we might not have the resources, we more than make up for it in innovation, hard work and sheer bloody mindedness!

"We have a support base that at least eight or nine Co-operative Championship clubs would be proud of and a recent history of success on the field that reflects the hard work that takes place off it.

"And to cap it all we now have a coach that has achieved far more than most and I'm delighted to get the chance to learn my trade from someone with such a wealth of experience," added Chris.
