South London Storm and Bramley Buffaloes are pleased to announce that the clubs will be competing for the National Express challenge on Sunday April 5th when they meet at the Storms home ground in Thornton Heath, Croydon.

The challenge is set to become an annual event with 2010 seeing the Storm travel up to Yorkshire.

The clubs will be looking to build on last season where both suffered grand final heartache in their respective competitions with South London Losing out to West London in Rugby League Conference Premier South and Bramley giong down to Celtic Crusaders in Rugby League Conference National.

Storm General Manager Giovanni Cinque is delighted to be hosting the Buffaloes, "it's a real honour for us to host such a great club with such as long history. Bramley were founded in 1879 and amongst their achievements they became the first club to entertain a touring side when they played New Zealand in 1907, and as recently as 1977 they played top-flight Rugby League. More recently than that they of course were crowned National League 3 champions in 2006. Our lads will look forward to what should be a great encounter with a very strong side"

The clubs have faced each other twice before, both times in 2004, with Storm claiming a 26-20 home win and Bramley winning the return 32-18 in theold National League 3 competition.

Bramley chairman Martyn Cheney welcomed the announcement of the Challenge match, "We last played South London Storm in our first National League 3 season and had a really tough game at Storm Park, we are looking for the same again this time. We have had close links with Giovanni over the years and when he suggested this game we were up for the challenge immediately."

Head Coach Mark Butterill added "A big thanks to our sponsors National Express for enabling this game to take place. This will be our second Pre-Season game and the lads are up for the challenge against South London Storm and with the league season starting the weekend after I'm looking for a big performance for my team, We've trained hard over the long off season and we're ready for the National Express Challenge."

South London Storm V Bramley Buffaloes kicks off at 2.30pm on Sunday April 5th. Admission is free and hot food and refreshments will be available.
