The Watcher hopes we go back to the Cherry & White hoops, let's not continue with the nonsense of last year's kit.

Now that's well smart. The rebrand is complete after suffering "the slings and arrows" of early last season. Any rival fan that smirks at the 2024 shirt is merely a jealous churl.

Good top that , as fans we do do need to accept the traditional cherry n white hoops are gone ( tiny chance maybe if magic weekend was to carry on ) doesn't have to be liked but unfortunately there was no chance everyone was going to be pleased .Going off the numbers that have been reported of last season's merchandise then it's only good news for the club that the rebrand was such a success.

Should you bother to search Bongser's posts from a year ago, you will find that he was dead against the move from C&W. His, and others' outcry probably led to the C&W themed chimera of last season - and it was, for Bongser, horrendous and no pennies were embezzled from The Towers turret restoration fund. But the thinking behind the whole re-brand has since been explained by Del Boy and others.

IMG were brought in to "rethink the game." We play in Wigan Metro and played in (roughly) the same colours as The Pahs. Wigan (hate to say it) have been more successful than us. IMG are not here to respect tradition so, were they to bring (say) a German side into SL, someone would have to make way. How long before Leigh were to be "assimilated by The Borg?" - that analogy for Frank1 (RIP) for those that understand it.

All Bongser's replica kits to date are C&W (and he will retain and treasure them) but we now have to move on, embrace the re-brand or perish.

The only vaguely witty sneer at the '24 home shirt was that we are further re-branding to "Leigh Ladybirds."

Bongser will take that and will take a '24 shirt!
