How is education supposed to make me feel smarter? Besides, every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain. Remember when I took that home winemaking course, and I forgot how to drive?

Finally found the highlights - and full credit to the York youtube account that has also posted them, at double speed.

They've been on the RFL site since 3ish.

I am aware, it is just the top to results on YT for "Leigh Centurions" are currently the rugby league 4+ minute highlights and second is the double time York account highlights.

I appreciated their gallows humour.

About noon actually, Bart, though that is pedantic - kept looking for it at work as yesterday's game was a blur, no one can really say they remember all the tries after one viewing unless they are are a polymath.

Late in the day, looked to see if Knights TV had yet published the full game. Day off tommorow and, if it is up, it will be watched 2-3 times by this viewer (the hangover from last night's excesses should have passed by then).

Saw the "doppio movimento" highlights and really enjoyed the last try at that speed. Leigh had to get a move on to break the ton barrier but, whilst they would have scored anyway, the Leighstone Cops version is hilarious!

Sorry to put a dampener on things, but why was there only a paltry crowd of 2,744, down by over 400 from the Barrow game two weeks ago?

Only just occurred to Bongser that we are now Centurions in two senses! Leigh's tweet with sound of that last gasp try should be pinned! Can't stop watching it. Don't ever want to stop watching it - length of the field through ten pairs of hands with LSV screaming for blood!

Just a perfect day.

A little like the "Were you there?" fanzine where hundreds of people claim to have been there when the official attendance was about a dozen (Bury, Rochdale, Halifax? Can't recall). There will be ten thousand Leythers claiming to have been there.

This, slightly modified, from Shakespeare's "Henry V":

"And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall count themselves accursed they were not there.
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That cheered with us 'pon Mary's day."

100% I have seen the steady decline of the quality of rugby in SL over the past 10 years , comparing them to the Wigan/Widnes teams in the late 80's early 90s , the game just isn't played the same anymore , we have gone way too one dimensional and all about %, as poor and wounded as York were on Sunday the Leigh team looked fit , players running at gaps hitting the ball at speed and the support play was out of this world .

I get the impression most SL coaches would be happy with their completion rates being 100% even if the lost 30 nil .

Whether or not we can get past the million pound game I don't know , its going to be hard and some of the players will be doing themselves out of a job if they do.

Wonderful B&B. Such a shame we can’t keep it.
