I appreciate all that Ben's done and tried to achieve in a Leigh shirt, same to with Joe Mellor this season, but I can't hide my dissapointed that I would have preferred a more dynamic first choice half back pairing for next season and going forward, these really are the positions that enable average teams to become good, and good teams to become much much better.
These signings seem like the same old, same old lack of ambition, I hope I am wrong and they have been secured as squad players with much more high profile half's on the radar.

Think we are signing to build a strong championship team for 2022. That is our reality for next year. Then possibly in SL 2 2023. Who knows with SL and the RFL. Strong championship half back pairing. Need to sort full-back and hookers now.

Are you banking on the 2 x 10's becoming a reality the year after next?
Until we find out something definatley, I would work on there being no structural change as such and there is the same 12 team SL with P&R in '22, amassing a team to win the Championship will just mean a great proportion of that team will need jettisoning and be replaced with SL quality player's if we do get promoted, grab the bull by the horns now and ensure we have at least 50% of next years squad capable if making the transition up.

All structural changes tend to go against our progress so expect next year 2x10 so no promotion. Briers being mentioned as new coach to get back on topic any thoughts?

Two people I have thought about for the coaching appt both with a few years as assistants but they have to branch out on their own at some point is Lee Briers and Sean Long, Mr B should be putting a lot of effort in a coaching appt but it goes against his remit to have ex-players in this position, is he ever going to learn he needs to look further afield, this strategy has not worked.

Serious doubt Briers will come as coach, maybe another position. his mate at dire has some coaching experience.and will be out or work shortly.how much input have they had this year
Long has no experience, personally would not have him at the club.
How about John Kear or, if we are cashed up, Ellery Hanley
Usual suspects Chester Purtill Lam Mcdermott Littler Mcavoy Coleman
Anyone know the oz market who might be free n willing

Sean Long no coaching experience?
How about Salford, Samoa, St Helens, Hatlequins - albeit Rugby Unuon - now at Leeds Rhinos and has also been appointed as The French assistant coach for the World Cup , all since retiring from playing in 2011.
It does seem like you are struggling to come up with any likely candidates judging by the list you have put together, go on then I will put you on the spot what is your 1,2, 3, from your list?

The feeling seemed to be that we did not want a rookie coach.Has Long been a head coach anywhere?
Your original post is a bit confusing do we have to have an explayer or not?
Its probably another RL failure.Didnt David Waite set up a coach school to set up career paths for suitable candidates.Something else gone by the way.
DB said that he had someone lined up as director of rugby. Does the fact no one has yet been appointed mean they are still in a job, or has DB changed his mind.
We need someone to galvanise the club, stand up to any attempted interference from the board room with a staff support and organization to have a similar effect on the town, increase game participation and support..
That calls for some cv.My list was just some names I could think of who had been coaches but possibly are available are out of work or will be soon.
I am hoping DB has done his research as to what value or input any assistant coaches may be having if we cannot get an experienced man to come. Was Tim Sheens ever actually approached I am not suggesting him but someone of that standing with younger more innovative help..
To answer your question Hanley Kear Henderson.
