1st May transfer window open. : Sun May 02, 2021 1:01 pm
So, the May 1st contract window is now open.

What do we think the strategy is? A lot of talk has been made about all our players being on one year deals running until the end of this season is that a good thing?

Do we plan for the championship? Do we get a head start on SL 2022 signings? Over the next few weeks you will see other clubs busy nailing down their targets for next year, where does this leave Leigh?

Will we lose players who want security? Players like Hood, Peats & Bell have being playing well in a poor team so far.

Lots to think about from the club,
Snowy

We will know more in the coming weeks if relegation comes to the core this season or not.

The strategy is quite clear. Somebody already knows the outcome of this season.

If you mean no relegation then I completely agree. Plan and throw the chequebook into next season and let the lads play their hearts outs out for a decent contract next year.

Would not surprise me if the likes of Hood is already tied up, but lets see what happens.

Degsy ain't daft and no Chairman will enter a comp knowing relegation is a certainty with both hands tied behind their backs.

I would agree, but previous says different. Unless he has learned.

We are all daft in them aspects Tom, but you don't become an astute Businessman and self made Millionaire for nothing !

The game needs characters like Derek and lets be honest, he has mellowed considerably in the past 3 years and wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't become one of the big 5 Chairmen of SL soon.

Well his comments in the SL meetings always seem to be acted upon.So yes he must be doing something right. Not sure he meets the top 5 yet,but certainly on his way.

He looks after his assets now.He learned. He will be first to tell you that. He walked from the club to return. He has fulfilled his commitment. He wanted out again because he spat his dummy out. Now his mind is set.

Facts not fiction.

He wanted out in 2018 because he thought he had let the club down, could have walked away and let us go into liquidation, admin, whatever, but worked his nuts off to move players on - players that should have pished the champ but for whatever reason didn’t.

Reckon that’s been the game changer for him, the fans stood by him/the team - I reckon he’s in for the long haul now

Be interesting to see our attendances come June, be a lot of pay per game punters like me who were season ticket holders, don’t reckon I’ll miss many if we get all systems go - although it’s probably just in time for the re-seeding of the pitch :D :D
