It is only a game but if you're passionate about something then it never really feels like that does it.

As a life long Liverpool supporter watching the service on TV when I got home from work was heart wrenching. I wish I'd been able to take the day off and pay my respects the right way.

No wonder they are angry .Had anyone lost a close one in such a tragedy and noone been brought to book for the mistakes that day they would be seething with resentement.

The government were foolish to send a minister that reaction was inevitable.

Whatever ithey are gone and it was 20 years ago. Thank god that things are safer these days.

No, it never feels like that, I'm not a Liverpool supporter, but I put a rose on the memorial for my brother.

He was the unfortunate messenger sent by the Prime Minister and as soon as he said he had a message from the PM then thats when the shouting started and eventually a large majority chanting "Justice for the 96". It would have happened no matter what MP had been there. He is an Everton fan himself and spoke well after the first few lines had been interrupted about the fans of both teams sharing the grief which got loud applause.

All the fans want is for someone to hold their hand up and say "we are to blame". The police refuse to do this despite the Taylor Report finding them culpable. No enquiry--no justice.

Can't be bothered pulling your post apart bit by bit, but it's hugely inaccurate and, in places, simply untrue.

As for booing Burnham, perhaps the 'fans' should thought about why his was there (to offer condolences and pay respects) and think about their own actions - booing at a memorial service, for any reason, is wholly unacceptable.

It is particularly inappropriate that they booed Burnham when he is an MP who has been actively seeking to have all documents relating to the tragegy brought into the public arena.

Sadly, I think the jeering incident will overshadow not only the reason for the heckling, but also the whole purpose of the memorial service.

Maybe it was daft to send a Government minister under the circumstances, but questions would have been asked had there not been a representative of Government present.

The main thing is that lessons have been learned from that horrible day and may they never happen again.

RIP, the 96.

No it wont and they have a memorial service every year it's just because it was 20 years that so much emphasis has been put on this one.

It's good that Burnham was there but probably best if he hadn't spoken on an occasion like that to be honest.
