However, lies, great lies & statistics and all that. Bongser is nothing if not pedantic and reckons that the average age would prove to be over 25 (though he hasn't been bothered to do the maths). He presumes that 24.4 is the average of the ages quoted in years alone (ie not counting any extra days since the lads were cruelly expelled from the comfy place)?
However some, say, "24 year olds" may be 24 years and one day old, others may be 24 years and 364 days old. Salary cap dictates that Leigh cannot have an infinite number of squad players but, were they to have, this would average out at an extra half a year apiece.
What's more, their ages this weekend are less important than their ages come February 4th next year (no, not Bongser's 32nd work anniversary (as Linked In would deem it) but rather the date of the first scheduled game between Leigh Centurions & Leigh Alumni) - approximating to an extra two and a half months apiece again.
Then there's the question of how many leap days the boys have lived through? Do we go down to hours, minutes, seconds. OMG!THIS IS AN AGING SQUAD!
