Whilst waiting for our Dave after the game I had Radio Leeds on in the car, there were three of them in the studio discussing the Northern Rail Cup all of them agreed (though not one had been to the game) that Leigh must have been very lucky to have beaten Fev (and all gave their opinion of why Fev lost) and that either Batley or Sheffield would win the cup both being virtual shoe in's for the final, now I know it is a yawkshire station but bloody heck I've never heard such a load of biased nonsense in my life.
David Hinchcliffe (ex Wakefield MP) and Peter Roe (ex coach of just about everyone) were the 'experts'. Featherstone lost, because they were unsettled about the change of coach, and were taking it easy after the arduous Championship matches they had just played in. Hinchcliffe, (a Wakefield fanatic) was also grinding out excuses for Trinity's woeful second half at Hull KR. He hadn't been there either, but he knew the reasons - probably injuries to 'key personnel'. (although he didn't know that) I was waiting for him to elaborate on who the 'non-key' personnel may be, but he didn't!
