Vanners, you live a few more streets away from LSV than Bongser does. How is it you hear everything sooner?
I am on the clubs email list from way back and I started creeping around on Facebook occasionally. (I even post the odd comment but don’t know, and don’t want to know how to do more than that). I am careful to try fact check as best as possible before believing everything on Facebook or passing it on. I will however never break a confidence or claim to have an inside angle.
If you haven’t heard it yet, I would encourage everyone to listen to Derek's interview on BBC Radio Manchester, which believe was today (Sunday) and should still be available on the app I read. He talks about the time being right for the change, how and why the badge, shirt and monochrome colours are not the finished article and how reaction to those (badge, shirt, colours) is being constantly monitored as part of the final decisions yet to be made. He also talks about how we will set the standard for game day experience this coming season.
Having just spent last weekend in Seattle at a Washington Huskies College Football game (50k plus) and then a Seattle Seahawks football game (70k plus), the game day experience is an essential part of bringing in the crowds. The game itself is not a patch on our great game, but the game day experience is something to behold. The city buzzes, bars are packed, and the whole day is a party. A huge boost commercially for the whole city.
