Ball security, ball security, ball security....
& tackling.
I have said it before & I will say it again, offloads killed us today *again* & some very poor tackling in defence.
That Rangi Chase try, where he ran through 5 or 6 Leigh tacklers was woeful & made to look like a world beating run by poor 'slap tackling'.
I really hate to be calling out the frailties of the team but today the £million difference showed.
Looking across the park today, almost man for man Salford were physically a much bigger side & had pace to burn because they had a much better completion rate, therfore being on the front foot & retaining more energy.
Chatting early in the game I called for Leigh to run at Chase & Dobson as much as possible, hoping this might drain their playmakers & therefore taking a little edge off their effectiveness, however it's easier said than done.
Having said all that, I still believe Leigh can produce a much better performance against Wakey next week & I think they will.
A nod to some of the Salford fans I chatted to walking to Brookhouse after the game, not in the least bit did they gloat or suggest we are a poor side & furthermore, praised our away support very highly.
So, Salford much better than the last time we met & looked quality, Leigh outclassed but showed enough to suggest we might still be in the fight.
Thought Mickey Higham was fantastic when he was on.
Fans in the North Stand were awesome.
The Club need a big push to promote next weeks home match *as said elsewhere* & get a big & noisy home crowd in to cheer on the team.
