And to finish Fev fans have had a lot of stick from some' but today I lost count of the number of their fans after the match who said to me how we were outstanding today.
To Leythers who could not be there today and to Leythers who did go I just hope we show our appreciation when the lads run out next Sunday. Awesome effort from them all.
Just got in from the match and out up Leigh. What a performance by the players and also the fans, and thanks for the kind comments from the Fev fans, sorry I missed you Robin, hopefully see you at Leigh in a couple of weeks mate.
Riddys defence has always been top notch. I thought PENKY when he came on was awesome too, he did really well. If Ryan hadnt gone off I think we would have scored a couple more, it meant we had hang on a bit near the end. If ever a player needed a try and the way he scored it, was Johhny Pownall. Well in Johnny
Martyn Ridyard has now played in Leigh's last 71 games. (Source - Dave Parky's 'Facts 'N Stats') That is impressive by any standards. Well done Martyn!
If ever there was a player proud of the club badge its Martin. His and Ryans faces at the end when they came over was such a joy to see. They were made up for the fans and their families and each other, not seen a more closer set of players for a while.
Should have heard the Leeds radio bloke when JP went over for his try. He was flat as a fluke. Talk about biased commentating. Unlike DP who's superb commentary is a joy to listen to. Can't wait for Sunday when I'll be back home. Come On You Leeeeeeeeeeeeigh.
Whilst waiting for our Dave after the game I had Radio Leeds on in the car, there were three of them in the studio discussing the Northern Rail Cup all of them agreed (though not one had been to the game) that Leigh must have been very lucky to have beaten Fev (and all gave their opinion of why Fev lost) and that either Batley or Sheffield would win the cup both being virtual shoe in's for the final, now I know it is a yawkshire station but bloody heck I've never heard such a load of biased nonsense in my life.
