i take your point on the draws we've had, but excuse me, i disagree with you about the ground, wakey have had over ten years of sl money, and are no nearer havng a decent ground, we've had one year in sl and have a brand new stadium.
What a ridiculous statement. So you managed a new ground and I'm p[leased for you but that has nothing to do with Leigh or Wakey being in or out of SL. No one other than Leeds has actually developed their ground due to being in SL, look at Saints and Bradford in particular. You were fortunate to have a good Council and find a good deal, I really wish we could find the same.
As for us being no nearer a ground, how do you know? I think you will find we are but until everything is signed, sealed and delivered I don't think Ted will be ringing you.
The reason we are in SL is because we know how to put together a RL team on a very tight budget.
For us to move on we need a new stadium we know that and we are working on it but the sort of stadium we need don't come easy - fact. It's as much luck as anything else why most clubs have new stadia. Most in fact only have it due to them being partnered with a football club, ie Wigan, Hudds ans Hull for starters.
I like Leigh and I don't like franchise. Please don't make me dislike Leigh by taking up this we have a stadium so we have a right to SL crap. Don't end up like bitter low rent versions of Hudds fans, you're better than that.
Trinity are in SL because they keep winning on the only place it should matter - the pitch. If Leigh had of done that they would be in SL now. Sadly they are not but that's not the fault of Trinity or Belle Vue is it
Also please note: Trinity were one point off a garde B licence, BV is no oill painting but it does the basics. You can have a drink, a pie, a pee and watch a game - exactly what else do you really need? Obviously the franchise panel felt we didn't need anything else.
