We have had one fan post on here a thread about how he has spent almost a grand so far this year supporting his club but he seems to forget that of that grand the club has probably only recieved £ 140/200 in revenue

We are where we are , we have an almost impossible hill to climb , we will not even start to climb it until we start to think differently , until we accept what and where we are and the almost blind faith we will have to show to make even the 1 st step

I can understand above if it was hundreds paid out just to watch 80 mins of rugby like we do normally, but it wasn't and seems a strange thing to say. It made a big big change to the norm, to experience seeing Leigh playing a competitive game in Europe - which SL had to themselves up to this season. It was a good weekend with a game of rugby thrown in. You may as well have included Leythers other holidays in the year as I said earlier or gain more thousands by not going to any away games and paying it to the club.

Also above wasn't hinted in this......

I'll remind you of this in 2 years time when Toulouse have qualified for a SL Licence application and we havent

70 K a year would probably get that for us

Also Leigh shirts where clocked a few times while we was walking, and connection made. But never spotted the famous posters though.

I think this is the attempt to bring back the boring "F" debate back by a poster who thinks we shouldn't worry about SL until we are sorted in this league 1st, but can't help bringing it up.
As Popman has said we won't get in SL in 2012. IMO We have too many volunteer workers instead of professional paid people to sort us out at the top and get us on right track. But of course we got no money, and not enough fans as yet. But of course if 2000 fans cancelled their holidays to Majorca etc and spent money in Leigh instead and donated to club we would be flying towards 2012

And just to think that some of those 'volunteer workers' had to forego the chance of a jolly in France, to ensure things would be in place for the Featherstone game!

It was me with the thousand pounds qoute and i dont want a medal i spend it because am a leigh fan and always will be...However you are right we have to be realistic and until a) a rich benefactor arrives ...dreaming or b) we get a pro active go get em commercial manager/dept we are sliding further behind ....further and further behind

Rugby isnt about the 70`s and 80`s of part timers run by part timers sky have seen to that so we either try (again hard without cash i know) to go with it or we say this is us this is our level get used to it and get behind us ..no more impossible dreams..

So they got 2000 fans in, not 3500. Someone remind me what our attendences are against clubs that only bring a couple of hundred to visit?

Thats what I thought BS.

Taking into account travel, hotel, food ,ground admittance and,in my case, very little shandy I,d say Starbugs estimate is on the low side by a good margin.

Was it worth it for the individual fan ? I,m glad I went on balance and seems a lot of others were too and thats despite the result.

Bet the Toulousiannes were glad we went. :)

Lets hope their fans turn up in the same number and have a great couple of nights in Leigh.

And (the bit in bold) is exactly why I spent my weekend in Bolton-Le-Sands because they won't.

you may think I'm an idiot, but it's nice to know I've been judged by my peers.

Another classic quote from the idiot looking for a village, we have had a rich benefactor for the last three years his name is ARTHUR THOMAS you know the guy who's appears to be wasting the cash he puts in (about £25K a MONTH and doesnt tell all and sundry unlike some pathetic little individiual who brags about spending ba few quid now and then).

I don't know, how to win friends and influence people ehh! having a go at people who sponsor the club in one thread and trying to alienate the guy who's keeping the club afloat in another, take your grand and shove it where the sun don't shine, I won't tell you how much I put in the club EVERY year but it makes your grand look like chicken feed and thank god there are more 'little corner shops and chippies' like us, but with pratts like that why should we bother.

Are you honestly saying that we have spent £330K on the players this year? If we have we have bought badly imho. We are part time and have no full time players!

Again, for me the money sould be spent better. We have a coach and assistant. For me i'd have a coach and an assistant who s also a player - i.e. half back - combine their salary. You get a player to work in the community you get an extra £10k on the salary cap - you have a player and a development officer - also they won't be labouring on a building site but able to do more training/recouperation.

If it is true then Rowley is taking over as coach then I for one wouldnt say he's my first choice - or get rid of kelly at the minute, he has to be given the season unles we get very dire performances - but then at least he can prove his worth. How many times have previous coachs' blamed him for causing unrest etc. Also it is rumoured that he has not got the best reputation in the game - if its true then I for one cant wiat to see if he worth it
