I have a very good idea what part-time championship players earn. I would be lying if I said I wernt speculating what SL players earn.
Edit: Ive added in part time above. My bad I actually forgot that Leigh were full time so their contracts are going to be more than your normal championship players.
Greg with the greatest respect in the world based off what you have written about salaries you have no idea what a championship player earns PT or FT. There wont be a player in the Championship on £192 a week
To help you; start dividing £1m by 25 for FT average salaries and divide 500K by 25 for top end Championship PT average salaries.
For anyone to suggest that a full time Pro RL player, even in the Championship is on sub £10k p.a is magic mushroom talk.
I know bus drivers on approx £7.60 p/h & at the other extreme £11.15 p/h, that's £15,808 p.a for a low paid driver on a 40hr week & £23,192 p.a for the high paid driver on the same 40hr week.
I don't see many at Leigh on less than £20k & a Rangi should be able to draw approx £60k +.
So what price for Riddy, Kes, Hock, Fui etc. I suspect Riddy & Kes would be £30k + while Hock & Fui could be £40k men.
"Only Penky, Barlow & maybe Wilkes" in the £10k bracket @Greg Florimos Boots I take it your unemployed & have no idea what a living wage is ?
Ste 100 we can all speculate what amount the players are being paid, but you have to realise they are giving up a lot to play rugby ,by that I mean Drinking, Eating ,and Social sacrifices ,I would think they are well paid even the average squad player must be on around 25 grand a year,so Fui, Hock, Hansen, Patterson, Higham, and Co must be on a fair bit more, then you have Riddy , Brierley,Kay,Barlow,McNally ,and I bet Weston will be a bit, good luck to them a Rugby career is a short one and they do put their bodies on the line.

You are making a very common mistake and not allowing for a lot of players 'salaries' been made up of appearance money and win bonuses. I bet the majority of championship players wish that you were sorting out their contracts if you think there arnt many part time players on less than 10K a year.

Im not sure anyone is complaining about what the players are earning Charlie. For me they are vastly under paid for what they do but i can say that because I see them the day after games with their battered bodies knowing that a lot of them are earning less than 10K per year doing what they do.
Do I believe the average salary for a prop forward in the championship is about 7K? I have no reason to doubt the person who told me that and given how his career has gone he certainly should command more than that.

Mate if you are now saying the average contract is £134 a week plus appearance and win money pass me what your drinking unless of course we are in a time machine and its 1988?

Again I will say I don't know what players earn,I do have a good idea what most Leigh player's are on, also remember they are full time. The average Leigh player must be on around 25 grand a year to make it worthwhile for what he sacrifices in life, I also realise there must be Championship players on much less than what I have suggested,as I don't expect all Clubs to pay what Leigh are paying. I would however expect players like Faxes Calahane ,Tangata ,and Ambler to be on more than what you quote, any player on a full time contract must be being paid a reasonable amount otherwise they would stay part time.
I know Richard Moore was on £35 k last year as a PT player. That was told to me by a current squad member who I was talking to who said he wouldn't mind been on that a a FT player.
Different players command different salaries and if a coach feels it is financially viable and will add benefit and can afford it why not.
Im here Mick, shame on us hey trying to sign a world class player... remind me again who your mob are signing?
Went really well for you last year didn't it. Bottom of the eighths!!. Fax spend less than half and take home the bacon. We will keep doing the right things and you keep doing your thing. Talking hot air and getting egg on your face, that's the way it went most of the year last year for your chairman and he started the close season in the same fashion. No reason to believe this will change next year either.

Sorry to disappoint you Tipster but my name is Terry once again Leigh are trying to show their muscle in signing Chase trouble is the RFL won't wear King Degsy ,he said he would hire a Barrister Degsy you can hire a Philadelphia Lawyer they couldn't help you your money doesn't talk ,Leigh are a Championship Club get over it. As for Fax we are a team united ,not a team of Prima Donnas we have no big names or big earners just graters who put Fui , Mickey H,and Brierley to the sword last season ,get over it Tipster you keep being Degsy's Lackey it suits you keeping his ego so big.
