No one is talking about employing someone on an £80k salary with a £60k budget get real, we all know that budget is a pipe dream! We are talking about a few posters around the place, use the trailer that has been mentioned, get reserves in the town handing out leaflets on Saturdays, etc!
Yes I fully agree the program we have is fantastic but again this something for the established fans, they need to be targetting the town and surrounding areas!
Its fantastic that the fans are trying to help but the club also need to use these people! It's been mentioned on here that people from the club read this board so they know people want to help, why not get them all together and brainstorm ideas!
But to have a marketing strategy you need to dedicate someone to take care of it or it will fall apart at some point. That is another wage or wages. To print flyers and posters for each game is a £1000+. Most of our players are part time with other commitments and the others are probably doing the community stuff. Tell me if I'm wrong but did the club not recently have the players in the Spinningate Centre playing games with the kids? If you had a second job where you worked mostly in the evening and at weekends. Then were told you had to go and spend more time away from your familly and mates maybe for no pay ( i don't know if they get any thing I am just putiing a scenario together) would you be happy. The players are there to play rugby with the odd PR show if you ask me not to be used all the time for it.
