Another reason why this is detrimental to the Championship is that Hunslet will become known as Leeds Reserves and if you are presently a Hunslet supporter that won't make you happy.
Now if you are young and living in Hunslet' and got interested in RL who would you follow Leeds Rhinos or Leeds Rhinos Reserves ?
Whilst agreeing totally with the points raised here I reckon powell only complaining cos Fev did not get tie up with Leeds.......if they had he would have kept quiet.
Bolton by birth,

As a Leyther, you’re one of us the moment you come here to wear the shirt. I don't care where you were born, what colour you are, what religion you are, what language you speak. You're one of us, part of our culture, writing our history as you create your own, and making us stronger for it....
Rumour has it that the pies applied to run a 2nd team in Ch1, as somewhere to operate their Academy from, but this was rejected. They are now heavily involved in South Wales Scorpions - so got their wish via the back door!!
Feeder clubs will be the final nail in the coffin for the game outside SDL!!

South Wales is a long way for their youngsters to travel Walt, don't think they will like all that traveling.
The move to feeder clubs was always on the cards and it stinks. I don't know what's wrong with the current system, or the arguments for and against but u20s and up to 4 d/rs was a good system
How is education supposed to make me feel smarter? Besides, every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain. Remember when I took that home winemaking course, and I forgot how to drive?
Whats wrong with them coming back into the amateur game from whence they came. That's what it's meant to do . I have never been a supporter of the dual reg players but if the Rfl continue with the elitism programme in its present form then the junior clubs will die and that will hurt the whole of RL. Sorry but you seem to not bother about everything under championship just like SL does to you
I`ve no doubt any Leyther has a problem with these players returning to the Amateur game but to say we as a Championship club( fan I hasten to add) are uninterested in any league below us is way off the mark.

The D/C has benefited Leyth for the last 3 years but also had a downside. It does appear to favour the SL D/Cs by providing better opposition than they would`ve encountered in their Academy set ups. Here`s hoping that the Championship clubs show some solidarity and as you say utilise a season long loan as opposed to D/C.
I can see the negatives in the d/r system but it's better than the season long loan one imo. I think a better standard of player is traded under the d/r system and the benefits outweigh the negatives. It should be limited to 3 per club though and be a luxury rather than a necessity
