Enjoyed todays game, some excellent tries and Durbin had a blinder. It was good to see us score tries from all over the park too.

As expected, theres a few early season rusty bits to iron out; for every touchline conversion Morty made he fluffed a much easier one, our handling at times wasnt sharp enough, and London opened us a few too many times in the first half.

Any news on Morrison? Looked like an achilles to me.

Young stanton looked pretty hot on his heals today.I think we will see this lad improve over time.

Hilly still needs to keep hold of the ball instead of risking the offload sometimes.

All in all it was a good runout for us.

Come on the leythers!!!

todays performance : Sun Feb 15, 2009 6:45 pm
The lads played well no doubt but I have a criticism of our right wing. When defending both Smith and Maden seemed to drift infield and this could prove costly.

Don,t like to be picky but the refs shirt was too similar to the Skolars shirts and I shouted he was offside a couple of times before someone politely told me.

Not sure if thats deliberate Frank.

I noticed it clearly after about 5 mins when they first had the ball in their 20. They both drifted in so we had 12 man in a much tigher line with Mort at FB.

They in theory had a 3 man overlap for the first 3 tackles. On the 4th, they moved back out again and the wingers dropped back.

agree with everything already posted but i cannot remember a poorer side to play at leigh in a long time.

lets judge after weds because fev have had a good win today.

still worry about smiths defence.

but plenty of positives to hook onto

espically meekins ability to run in strong

Sorry FrankB but the ref had purple on and the skolars wore green/black, so if oyu had a problem distinguishing between the two you need to go to an optician

It was certainly a dark purple though, can see why a man of Frank's years would struggle to tell the difference  Mind you, watched the Rangers-Celtic game and both the referee and the Celtic goalkeeper were wearing all-black kits

Get Durbin on a contract now, he's got a fantastic step and the idea of moving to hooker just adds summat else to his locker. Would be a great bench option with such quick feet and versatility. Guessing Jock was injured today?

Some great finishes from our lads today and the defence was excellent - I know the opposition weren't the greatest, but you can only beat what's in front of you. Nice to see the Skolars blooding a few local youngsters as well.

Very impressed with Durbin, also thought Watson went well.
All in all a good team performance, this team imo will do a lot better than most predict.....Bring on Fev i say.

Serious sport has nothing to do with fair play. It is bound up with hatred, jealousy, boastfulness, disregard of all rules and sadistic pleasure in witnessing violence. In other words, it is war minus the shooting.

Yeah I thought Durbin was very good today, he looks very handy and it'll be interesting to see him play against better opposition.
