SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

2 ways of looking at it : Tue Apr 14, 2009 6:10 pm
We could quite easily have won all our league games so far this season

Both close defeats to Batley and Barrow where if we had played for the whole 80 minutes we would have won both

We could also quite easily have lost all our league matches as well as all three have been close wins especially Sheffield and Widnes

So should we be happy or dissapointed

I thought we actually played much better yesterday in the first half than we have done so far this season

Then it all just fell apart

Hopefully we will be able to keep it all together next week

Or a 3rd way of looking at it - we got beat by currently best team outside SL.

What made it more difficult to take the 2nd half collapse is who saw it coming at half time? We get great result away at Widnes, and storm to comfortable lead, and look like cruising - and just when our expectations reach the possibility of a double weekend win...... :(

How is education supposed to make me feel smarter? Besides, every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain. Remember when I took that home winemaking course, and I forgot how to drive?

In total agreement over their 1st half performance... thought they were the absolutely clueless, a bit like we were in the 2nd....

I think Barrow played poor in the first half possibly due to playing Fax, Wigan and Whitehaven in the last couple of weeks. Some of the players could be feeling the effects of the easter period and will be glad for a weekend off.

IMO the possibility of the fatigue element taking its toll would `ve occurred in the 2nd half...

I also wondered if Barrow were showing the after effects of a full blown Cumbrian derby played out less than 72 hours previously. A little like in 2006 when we demolished Widnes on Good Friday by some 50 points, only to get hammered by 30 points up at Hull KR on the Easter Monday.

Barrow however certainly have a sprinkling of quality players at this level.

It's a problem - we aren't currently capable of high scores.

I think Halifax are the best team outside SL to be honest mate.
