It just wouldn't work though, the opposition would just get pinged for it when the usual get away with it because of "dominant tackles" which are an absolute nonsense. The only way to get rid of the absolute bore fest is to abolish the arbitrary dominant tackle and start penalising the usual suspects for laying on like they do every one else. We all know that won't happen.

Exactly. It's clear when a defending team is doing it, it's obvious. The are holding down the player usually with their head swivelling around to look at their defensive line. There is a clear pause in the action of about 3 - 4 seconds.

It could be solved easily. Just a few penalties and players would have to adapt. Soon as the ref shouts "held" players have to get off quickly. None of this trapped arm nonsense, or accidentally causing hindrance to the attacking player.

It's killing the spectacle of the game.

Interesting that Leeds are way down on that list, considering they used to be full of local homegrown talent. Which adds to the theory of the best teams having the most successful academy products. Leeds haven’t been good for a few years now, and Rohan Smith seems to prefer journeymen. Unless it’s not his call of course.

If journeymen are better than your youth players are likely to get then you're better off with journeymen with the youth players to deputise for injuries and make the squad a bit bigger.

I would say that leeds' youth issues are because they haven't been as good at young player recruitment and scouting as they used to be. Or maybe that Saints, Wigan and even us have got better at that.

I still like Clark, but he should have copped a couple of games minimum
