That's good, they've got the pricing all wrong for this tournament and embarrassed the sport IMO.
I should be there this weekend, taking my lad to his first rugby match and hoping its a good one. You're right it should be the match of the tournament so far and potentially the best of the whole tournament. Then again I expected France v Samoa to be a decent watch, so what do I know.
I went to the Lebanon/NZ game as a walk up and couldn't believe they were charging £40 for South Stand!!
I was going to go anyway on Sunday, but will deffo be in South Stand now - be good to show a full (well, nearly) stadium on the telly.
I was told at the club shop, that that weren`t selling any tickets for the Lebanon/NZ game, and I had to buy direct from the RFL when I went to the HJ to purchase a ticket several days before the game.
I then asked, if I could pay cash at the turnstile at game time and was told I couldn`t.
At that stage, I gave up and decided to watch the game on TV.

to be fair i think that the club are at the beck n call of the rlwc organizers at the moment, they've pretty much just rented out the stadium on match days

I agree, but it later transpired that I could have paid at the turnstile, and hence I would have attended.
The club should have been aware of this and there were probably other fans who missed the game too because of this misinformation.

they're putting bare minimum information out, probably all scheduled tweets, i've asked a couple of questions re pay on the gate to no response.
as i say, everything is going through the RLWC team its a RLWC event, and jon dutton is refusing to admit he's fcked up on a few things, i tweeted him last week about pay on the gate and shouting it from the roof tops, to silence.
Hence why i'm putting this on here, so we've got a week for word to get around
Mersey Street "bee hive" car park was free last Sunday while there was a world cup match on, when I went to the Samoa v France game. I w.as on the West terrace for that game, which cost £20, and will be in the East Stand on Sunday.
Theyve seen some sense and reduced the standing prices (West and south stands) to 25 quid for adults.
And they've been allowing pay on the gate for the last two game.
Worth passing on, it's got potential to be the match of the tournament , let's get some more bodies in the stands
West stand price was £25 for this game before the comp started and still is according to the RLWC2021 website. South stand tickets at £25 are under category D standing (even though the South stand is labelled category C), and anyone purchasing at the rate of £40 should get the difference refunded. I noticed there were more people in the West than the South for the PNG v Cook Islands and Samoa v France games, as it was cheaper for the two previous matches..
