That's my view too.

They will get a significant transfer fee for him now, or he will leave them at the end of next season, for nothing as his contract ends

It all seems to stem to the issue of a straight swap of contracts. Wardle 1 v King 3. I would guess that the argument from Wire is that a fee would be required for the remaining 2 seasons of King’s contract, and someone at Hudds doesn’t think there ought to be a fee. Rather than waste time stalling while having to get Kings contract off the cap, t seems Wire have taken the offer of the Pies.

Huddersfield have more centres than a tube of polo mints.
Wardle will have to be moved off their cap sooner than later.

I think the interference from Watto isn’t helping.
His job is to coach not decide the bounty on a players head. His role is so far as ‘yes’ I want him or ‘no’ I don’t. Leave the rest to the board.

Over the years Wire & Hudds relationship has been amicable, Watto looks hell bent on making everything about him.
He ever undermines the roles of his team skippers and controlling backs by constantly pacing up and down the touchline, throwing his arms about like John McCrirrick in between folding them back up again.

So they have no centres then?
or one?

Admittedly it’s been a while since I was told Wardle had signed for Wigan at about the same time as Bibby signed for Huddersfield just before the last England fixture.

I thought the whole King move which came a bit out of the blue could have affected it, but I don’t think it has and I still expect him to be playing for Wigan in 23.
Bibby to Huddersfield must mean Wardle to us.
Huddersfield must be looking to move him on, could be a makeweight for the Jake Connor deal though should there be any truth in that rumour.
