I’ve no issue if Austo plays or not, so long as bench supremacy isn’t compromised. Nice guy is Blake, but I have zero grace and goodwill tolerance.
Austo was unplayable 3 years ago and absolutely nailed on for man of steel, he hasn’t been remotely near that form since his leg injury in the summer of 2019.
Widdop is absolutely massive for us and looks very comfortable with Ratchford and Williams. That fluidity isn’t there with Austo in the halves this season.
He made absolutely no difference to the team when he came on. Not that he should, as a replacement, you can only want for that and perhaps a little more with freshness of legs.
I’m very at ease not to see him play again got us and have a huge pack and bench.

Only for about the first three months of the season, or so, until his one dimensional play was worked out by every opposition coach and defence. As you say, there's not the same fluidity with Austin, as there is with both Widdop and Williams. Austin just makes the overemphasised dummy, and that's his play book done. Cannot knock him for effort, but he lacks the ability of Widdop and Williams of playing the situation in front of him and quickly adapting to it. If he pulls on the Rhino's shirt and turns into Jonathan Thurston, I'll be very annoyed!

I haven't seen the match ,just listened to it on the radio. The commentators were suggesting that we hadn't made any tries of our own but had swooped on Cas mistakes to score ,worrying if that's the case.

Another angle to spin on it, as well as putting so much pressure on Cas to force the errors, to consistently go through much of the first half error free, applying so much pressure on Cas, there is little opportunity to be creative with ball in hand while capitalising upon the opportunity gifted.

On reflection, the most creative memorable moments of the game were created by 3 props…Hill and Cooper interplay in the first half gave Mamo a stroll and the Dave Chisnall’esk run from Mulhurn in the second. Both pure class moves. I’m buzzing today from that Mulhurn run. I’ll remember that.

Well saints get favouritism for sure. Makinson obvious squirrel grip gets fewer games than Lineham for alleged squirrel grip (I have no doubt that he did it but it wasn't caught on the sky cameras like Tommy's).

Cooper shouldn't get more games out than paasi, as it was a far, far lesser incident, but he probably will.

Interesting you mention Makinson, he got 3 games reduced to 2 on appeal for a similar tackle to Cooper

Makinsons was deliberate and his feet left the floor. If Cooper gets the same punishment then it's laughable.

Sending off sufficient for the Coops incident. (For me at least).
Did you notice Chris Hill took a wack when the Cas's players head went into Hills?
Hill did not look well at all.
That was a big knock which I thought the docs would have picked up on. Very concerning either way.

Decision on Charnley was correct.

Almost typical Wire performance. Running away with it, take the foot off the pedal and give penalty after penalty and we're staring down the barrel of a comeback.
Don't do it easy do we?

I thought John Wells made a very good point about Ashton. For all his tries, arguably his kicks and chase to the in goal area late in the 2nd half stemmed the Cas fightback and was his best piece of play.

Really hope we keep Ashton.
You can't teach speed, and letting Mamo go means we need a player like him.

It was nothing alike! Are you on the disciplinary panel? Makinson jumped in with a lot of force to a player who wasn't stumbling! Very deliberate. What h Coopers in real time and I think it's harsh really to be given a red. Still if we win next week we are due to play you lot in the semi so no doubt it will be the same ban that Paasi got for hospitalising somebody!

Talking of Saints just thought I’d have a look at the inbreds over on Redvee and ofc Cooper is on topic and how scummy Cullen is going to get him off
