The things that's vexed me off and annoyed me most of all over this is that I've been harping on. And moaning that we dont need any of this BLM bull as it is a political movement. Which has come from the americans due to the george floyd case. But taken on a whole new role with the leftist movement of riots in America. Cancel culture. The pulling down of historical statues, and basically erase the history of America in the riots case and the history of Britain in the statue cases and the cancel culture since.
I've been a centre right person. And said we dont need this politician bull at the matches with the knee taking etc as I dont go to watch the rugby. For football. Or formula 1 for this. I watch the sports I enjoy watching because I want to escape the political rubbish that's going on. I want to escape the cancel culture that is taking place and I just want to enjoy myself for a few hours on a sunday or whatever day the match is on.
Things like the racist abuse the player (I'm not gonna even attempt to spell the leeds played name as I will butcher it) recieved if true doesnt help my case of saying we dont need this knee taking bull crap. I was in agreement with the England fans booing the players for taking the knee at the euros. But then again. The fans go and do the exact same thing and fling racist insults out. Which doesnt help the case that your then doing the very thing they are standing up for.
I do like the rugby league stance and how they have evolved it. It's not just about BLM. Its actually kicking out all inequalities that the player disagrees with. And it's not necessarily just the knee. But it's just standing there and making a point. Which isn't a bad thing. And I applaud the 4fl for expanding it to a campaign for the players to make there mark and do something they believe in and a gesture that the player believes in.
But. When did this country go backwards. When did this country take a step back in the diversity that we have had for many many years. (In my lifetime and I'm 34) because its unsettling to know that ina moment. Something that was ok. Can all of a sudden very taken away through cancel culture. Which is sad. And why has racism become so prevalent again. Is it because of america and George floyd. The BLM movement has made it us against them?
Give me the 90s and 00s when this was not a thing and everything was not being cancelled. Because at this rate. It's going to become very mundane and boring.
