Its possible that the coach wanted to stick with York players rather than a loaned player, but then again Dean has been a bit hit and miss in his performances for York.

York have brought back loanee Mikey Lewis from Hull KR in the squad and it seems he is preferred to Dean.

Lewis was doing OK for kr at the start of the season

Is Riley Dean not allowed to play in Cup Matches? I think, but not sure, that he hasn't played in previous rounds. I would guess that he is on Wire books for the Cup.

Apparently he played in the semi final and had a hand in 2 tries. Must have been given permission to play in the 1895 Cup. Seems a bit harsh as I think they have only just recalled Lewis.

Lewis is quite a talent although I think he is better at FB. KR have a quality player wherever he ends up. I assume he came through the joint Hull Academy ?

James Harrison looks a decent player for Fev. Hopefully he gets some game time for us next year.

If Riley Dean was as good as Sam Tomkins and George Williams at 16,17,18,19…he’d already have a long term deal, and George Williams would be on his way back to Wigan.
The kids ok, but quite simply, he has to work, and want it harder. My gripe is exactly the same with Patton, the guy has skills, but he’s more afraid to mess up than back himself.

Nathan Wood wasn’t the best halfback around and I think not as skilful as Dean or Patton, but he was bold and always backed himself, he’d be getting groans and criticism one time, but rather than retreat into a clam shell…5 min later, he’d back himself again to a reprise of ‘na na na na na..,,,!’

He needs regular games to develop and improve his game.

He was on loan to Newcastle Thunder but I am unsure whether he has been loaned out again?

The reserve competition is the best way for young player development and needs to be reinstated ASAP.
