Widdop staying would be great news, as he's been such a creative influence since his disappointing first 12 months.

His first year wasn’t any of his fault of course. Injured then COVID resulted in his wife and kids abandoning him, and he can’t even see his kids in the off-season as Australia closed its borders. It’s testament to his character that he has managed to produce such great form in spite of all of that. Proper marquee quality.

He did go home in the off-season, did the 2 week quarantine in the hotel.

Don't disagree regarding circumstances, however, his performances on the field were disappointing in his initial season.

100% this mate. He must have been mentally all over the place last year, but he’s been the best player in SL this year for me. Absolute quality, hope he’s not out for too long.
