It was a decent game, but interesting to see the contrasting emotions on display. In reality there was absolutely nothing between the sides, both defended well but both clearly have deficiencies. Saints fans are despondent as our attack was just woeful, calls to sack the coach and replace the entire team. Wire on the other hand jubilant and praising all their players for the superb performance. Yet if Makinson's try is given or the ref doesn't stop the game when King faked his injury, Saints would have won the game. Fine margins.
I was really impressed with your halves. Judging by how they played, I think you'd be mad to axe either of them for Williams this season. Austin was genuinely fantastic, a threat all night and Widdop looks back to his NRL best. Our spine looks like it might be one year too many. Coote just isn't getting there in attack, and under Woolf we only have two moves, the sweep to the left for Coote and the reverse pass on the inside to Coote. We tried both repeatedly, but the halfbacks were forced to wait and hold the pass as Coote was just too slow in arriving. I think we'd be better putting Dodd to 7 and changing the playbook a little to freshen things up. We've potentially only got Lomax remaining next season out of our 1,6,7,9 so there's a good chance we'll fall short this year as we're lacking there. A Challenge Cup win would be nice however given how long it's been.
I've seen shouts that Hill, Cooper and Philbin 'smashed' our pack, but the pack doesn't concern me at Saints. We spent big portions of the game playing one out rugby in your 20, so we must have got there somehow, we certainly didn't lose the territorial battle at all and were never under much pressure at the other end of the pitch. With Lees and Bentley to come back fresh towards the end of the season it isn't the pack causing our problems.
For all the criticism of Price, he's a decent coach. He's found a way to frustrate and completely nullify Saints. It's certainly exposed how limited a coach Woolf is. It could still be your year if you could engineer a route to a Grand Final against Saints, I'd certainly have you as favourites. But it'll probably be us that spoil that for you by not getting there. Yet you got absolutely obliterated by Cas in the semi the other week, the mysteries of sport.
You didn’t look like scoring all night. Our defence was magnificent. So what makes you think you’d have scored if King didn’t get injuired?
Also what if Ratchford would have scored and we’d gone 12-2 up or if Widdop had passed to Hill and not kicked it? All if buts and maybes but I’d be confident if we’d have played for another 10 minutes your lot wouldn't have scored.
Terrific defensive effort from everyone last night, another win away at Saints, Redvee viewing amusement should you wish to indulge, happy days.
Hardly a classic with ball in hand, and one piece of quality on the left ultimately deciding the spoils. Concerned about Clark, as he seemed to very subdued with ball in hand.
Saints were slowing the rook and digging out options for Clark. Plus it was clear to see he is still carrying a knock. Although playing him against Cas was too soon and and added to out defeat.

Not quite sure how an injury however faked, like the one Warmsley tried to pull, would have an effect on the forward momentum of a pass further in the game.

No we didn't. With the King incident we really would have had to pack in if we couldn't score there. Your line was in disarray, I think you only had two players covering half the pitch as they'd all come in to chase LMS, Saints were lined up with about 8 players ready to go that way. But I get your point, pass into touch is as likely as us exploiting a 6 man overlap last night.
Your defense was magnificent last night, but the game was very even overall. It was just one bit of quality from Widdop that separated the sides. I saw nothing last night to worry about particularly, we just have work to do on our attack. It wasn't like you hammered us. The way Saints fans are talking Facebook and redvee, you've just put 50 on us to send us bottom of the league. The usual suspects on here too will be claiming invincibility and predicting an unbeaten run to the title. You've always been capable of beating us in one off games and do it pretty regularly now.

To be fair to Saddened a few years ago if we had beaten Saints away we would have celebrated long and hard as it seemed so unlikely, now… The “if Makinsons try stood” however is a poor effort if I might be so bold, there can’t be any suggestion from even the most 1 eyed Saint that that was anything other than a forward pass, can there? Commentators kept pointing out it was “the best defence against the best attack” we scored a try and they didn’t. As for Saints, there are always excuses when they lose, they lost fair and square. I still for the life of me can’t work out how they got that Walmsley penalty.

I only mentioned that as it was late on and the ref was giving it. He followed the play and it was the touch judge who took the decision. It was forward and you edged the win overall, I've got no issues with that. But the mocking you lot do over my posts is daft, you ignore the praise I give Warrington, focus on some tiny bit and act like you blew us off the park last night. I was just trying to get across the point that if we'd sneaked it somehow, your fans would have been wallowing in the mud and calling for beheadings. You swing so quickly between manic depression and delusional confidence.
