Inglis Super league career over?? : Wed Jun 16, 2021 12:14 am
Has anybody else heard the rumour that Inglis hasn't even started his rehab on his hammy yet?
I find that bizzarre if true but i keep hearing it from diffrent sources.
Also if he has started rehab and is on track for recovery do you think we'll actually see him in a Wire shirt again?
He has what, another 4 weeks on his recovery time then 2-3 more weeks to get fit again? do you think it will be too late in the season to just plop him back in the team?
I'm not sure there is enough time to get him back up to scratch to force his way in to the team barring injury to other players.

I’d just assumed we’d seen the last of him anyway and didn’t expect him to feature. I think by the time he gets sorted the season will be pretty much over. He certainly wouldn’t have time to regain any match fitness (he’d need about 6 weeks).

Shame but he’s had a great career and at least we got to see him turn out once or twice. I don’t think we’ll see a repeat of this sort of signing though.

I feel it's unlikely that GI will pull on the P&B again. Hope he does make a cameo or two before the season ends, with everyone able to attend, but not as a shadow of the player he was.

Still a little over 13 weeks until the end of the regular season.

Probably not enough time to try and get match sharp but I think we'll wheel him out a couple more times before he's done here.

Man City fans can say they saw George Weah pull on the sky blue and it will be the same for Wire fans with Inglis.

This was always going to be a high risk signing, Inglis has given it a go to come out of retirement, I hope he gets another shot to show he is fit even if it just leads to him getting a season in the NRL next year.

The problem then becomes a case of do we squeeze him into the team for the sake of the publicity, when we might actually be better off not disrupting things as we thru to leak at the right time.

Having said that, I think it’s pretty clear this season isn’t really on course anyway. Maybe we should just throw caution to the wind and not put pressure on ourselves to peak for the playoffs. I think the effort and attitude is there from the players, it’s just that for a few different reasons we won’t quite have that key ingredient that brings everything together when the chips are down.

Hopefully the slate is wiped clean from top to bottom over the close season and a different mindset with less pressure is the order of the day. The best thing that can happen is a few big names move on, the media writes us off as mid table and no one feels the pressure of expectation.
