I had to look up the word cryptic. But I often wondered why he only played for 15 minutes and then never got picked for 3 weeks.

And your conclusion?

Considering it's taken 2 years to give us a fortress like defence , we were pretty shambolic in defence when Wakey were able to get on the front foot & they made scoring within 10 metres seem much simpler than we are able to cope with the same task.
Anyway, we won & looked more capable in attack than last week when we got on the front foot.

Well Hooky, thanks for the interest and I apologise for the delay in answering ... I had to go to bed.
On reflection, I think I ought to decline to give a full medical diagnosis on the grounds that I might be struck from the Medical Register for lack of precise clinical evidence. In addition, it could be complete twaddle.
Our defence was pretty naff, at times, last night and some players are playing well below what they used to produce. Mind you it would be just like Wire to step up vs. Saints.

No chance. In 20 years time I might be prevented from opening the batting for England.

So what was the actual verdict on last night’s performance? Did we bounce back in the way we all expected, or did we limp through it or just go through the motions?

Personally I was happy with a few aspects of our game. Attacking-wise we had our moments and Widdop looks as creative a half back as we’ve had for many many years, which of course is nothing less than you’d expect for a marquee ex-NRL star. Still many moments of madness in defence (and a few bombed chances in attack) and considering we were playing a team expected to be near or at the bottom we should have looked more clinical.

To me it looked like a performance from a middle-table side that would struggle to get through a play-off game against one of the top four. I guess we’ll get a better idea of where we are at when we play Wigan and Saints.

I didn't see it, don't like to comment on what I've heard on the radio personally.

We won and I'm happy with that, but it doesn't erase the bitterness of the semi final exit.

I was there, but shaky first half but all credit to them - the second half was great. Lots of good individual performances but Widdop world class again.

The thing that most impressed me with Widdop in Oz was his short kicking game and he now seems to have found that here too.
