Widdop is outstanding and it is encouraging to see the gradual transformation of Akauola into a decent attacking threat as well. But the one glaring problem we have is our defence, where we are very fragile. We will not be challenging at the end of the season without some serious attention to our defensive structure.

The game lacked intensity. I know the atmosphere doesn't help but some of the play in particular in defence looked like a pre season friendly. It looked like a warm up game.
Castleford created some really well worked tries last week but we have conceded some really soft tries against Salford, Wakey, Hull KR etc that we should really never have allowed to be scored.
Any time we have one or two sets of six on our own line we look like we will concede
I was good to see our right edge looking threatening though.
I think Darryl Clark is an amazing player but I really do think that Walker needs to be given more time on the pitch in games like these to be allowed to come our of Clatk's shaddow.

Walker is looking lively and certainly needs more time on the pitch. I think he should play every week. We don't need four trundling subs & big is not always best. He messed up with one dummy too many when we should have scored but everyone cocks up occasionally and the encouraging thing was that he made the break. No problems with Daryl Clark & Walker on the pitch ... we need all the attacking spark we can get.

We'll know a bit more in the next three games as to how we shape up against Saints and Wigan, with an opportunity for some fringe players to get a run out in between against Leigh.

I thought the performance was encouraging but relieved we went in front as if Wakey had taken the league the nervous atmosphere could have turned ugly.
Widdop is a class act and as previous posters have said is at the crux of pretty much everything we do. Thought Walker is showing good thing excluding the balls up mentioned above. For me, Daz has been strangle quiet recently. Admittedly he does set a high bar for himself, just wondering if he is carrying a slight knock or something.

Difficult challenges ahead but COYW

Not just an opportunity, a necessity as we play them the day before the England vs All Stars. Our team could be decimated, but it might just be King we lose.

If I was coach, I'd call it a necessity and do it. However, with SP he doesn't always take the opportunity.
