No, it's fine, my post was meant as a light hearted one, just noting that we certainly have a glass half full & glass half empty split on this forum.

I think it's good that we have a forum where not everyone follows the same 'party line' and where views can be divided and cause debate - As long as discussion remains on the right side of civil, then all is good.

Personally, I find most of the views expressed on here of some interest, even if I read some of it and sometimes wonder are we following or watching the same club

If that's a pop at me for taking a break from here, because I felt the moderators were being too heavy handed, then, fair enough, I'll take it on the chin.

Why are we lumbered with him until the end of the season?

I don't get the mindset of "ah well he's quitting anyway, lets just watch him take us out of the cup, not challenge for the league and fluff the playoffs again". If it's going south, bin him..

I don't know the intricacies of his contract but the only mitigating factor would be if we have to pay him up the entire amount AND pay for a interim replacement. It's not my money so I can't tell the club what to do with it.

If he's trying his hardest and it's not good enough it's unfortunate for him but the club should always come first.


NB I am not saying now is the time to pull the trigger, I just dont agree with keeping him until the end of the season, regardless of what's going on.

I've really no idea whether there was any heavy handedness and rest assured we don't collaborate to the extent of pushing one particular view.

The forum is lively at times and can obviously become polarised after a defeat but I don't think its ever been fair to put people into groups (not particularly aimed at you btw) as there's a bit of the school yard about it with opinions too easily dismissed or belittled without getting over dramatic.

I did like your response to Captain Hook as it does recognise that the forum is full of all sorts of characters and opinions which I also generally enjoy even if views expressed don't tally with my own.

See, the flipside to that is, we received about 3 or 4 reports from other users about that thread, that the abuse that was being levelled was getting too aggressive and personal.

People tend to trot this line about 'mods being heavy handed' usually when they disagree with something we've done, if anything, we're pretty bloody lenient (probably a bit too lenient) on here, and trust that most of us can act like grown ups and discuss differences of opinions in a reasonable way.

I was disappointed that you felt the need to leave at the time/hit out at us, as i've always considered yourself to be one of the upper echelon posters on here over the past ten years and enjoyed your contributions. Drop one of us a PM next time.
