Difficult decision? Price is leaving at the end of the year, anyone with eyes in their head can see we'll bottle the GF even if by some miracle we make it and the dressing room seems to be splintering.

Neither Moran or Middleton got where they are by ducking difficult decisions but this isn't difficult. Unpleasant, sad (I think we all agree Price is a decent bloke) and disruptive but it certainly shouldn't be construed as a tough call.

This. I’ve had more difficult decisions deciding what to have from the chippy on a Friday night.

Sacking someone is not a difficult decision? I'm glad you're not my employer.

Wasn't it time for Powell to go less than a week ago

Oh how we love a good sacking.

In terms of a business decision, sacking Price now makes little sense - you'd have to pay off his remaining contract, plus find & hire someone, very much on the premise of:

"Would you drop what you're doing for 6 months, and win us a GF, but we've already got the next guy lined up..."

Do Adecco or Blue Arrow have any top flight RL coaches.....!?!?

John Duffy and a large fish ... ought to solve your problem.

Strange that Fitzpatrick isn`t mentioned regarding the decision making process.

Surely the CEO should have the remit to hire and fire and it would be his duty to do so.

I agree that Price needs to go immediately.

Nope. Relieving someone of their duties 6 months earlier than planned to save the season because they are underperforming is not a difficult decision.

For someone who goes for a beer every weekend with the coach it may well be, but for a ruthless CEO it would be pretty straightforward.

I think we’re not discussing a sacking though, just an early release with the remaining contract paid off. If anything it’s in the coach’s favour as he gets to leave earlier without losing out financially. It’s just the disappointment of being replaced that would be hard to take, and as others have said he’s a nice guy so no one wants him to leave on the wrong terms.

The tough call isn’t the emotional angle it’s whether we would be worse off with a temporary coach for six months, one who knows he hasn’t got the job for 2022. If we do go down that route maybe we give Henderson a chance to put himself in the shop window. Would be freaky if he won us the grand final though!

I'm discussing a sacking. I want him sacked first thing tomorrow.
