YES. I am an advocate of promotion and relegation.
Leigh weren't promoted, this season. They were "fast tracked", and as has been proved, they (and any other team put in the same situation, last year) were out of their depth.
Teams with a historic inability to retain their elite status is simply a fact of life. I dare say in 12 months time, the same fate AGAIN will trouble Norwich and Watford in the Premier League, as it has over the past decade. Its up to them to recruit better
Leigh should not have been put in this situation. They gave it a go (who wouldn't), but even Derek Beaumont knew it was doomed.
A bit like a 1970's Arthur Mullard (after he hadn't washed for a week) going on a blind date with one of Charlie's Angels, pinching her Aris, and expecting the date to go any further.
