Not if an additional day's broadcasting cost and stadium running costs exceed the gate revenue from an additional capped 4,000 attendance. I would imagine that massively exceeds £80,000 revenue that might be expected. From that viewpoint ie reality, it makes no sense.
Obviously ignoring the fact it was fixed for one day with the BBC for their schedules six months ago as confirmed in the article this thread was started with. Mind you they ripped their schedules up for the death of Prince Philip so no idea why they can't do it for the challenge cup semi final to get an additional 4,000 people in.
