New Pops are not No1 prioity : Thu Aug 13, 2015 11:36 pm
Our centres and 2nd row offer nothing in attack the amount of times Sandow and Myler came across the field and found no runners was embarrassing. This has happened all season and all we do is blame the half's and the props. Currie done it occasionally, Atkins runs at players, King, Weswood, Laithwaite, Philbn, don't run lines Lets hope that Hughes can teach them for next season. I feel sorry or the halfs, they have ben me to look stupid all season by players not prepared to run onto the ball.
Our props are ok and will be fine next season, but if we don't get running 2nd rows and centres tha want to run into gaps we might as well not bother.

The halfs won't have the room to find the running backs unless the pack is dominates from the front.
Are you sure your not drunk Pops?

Philbin, Westwood and Currie don't run lines?

I'm all for criticising a poor team and last night we certainly didn't have enough runners, but that is just making stuff up.

He's right in that we're really poor at centre. We could do with at least one player who knows how to play that position next season.

For someone who makes quite a few spelling mistakes in their posts, I'd consider it un-wise to criticise others about their spelling.

Props need to drive forward and make yards but when the ball is shipped no=one is running any lines and offering the halves any options watch the game again and see how many times Sandow and Myler are looking for runners. This isn't the first time, Magic weekend was even worse. It showed last week how Sandow can find the runners when Atkins and Ratchford both ran onto balls and we scored, they were the only two, and none last night. Yes Currie can do it and when he does he looks world class but he needs to do all the time.
Regardless of the props go forward, the halves can not put people through gaps and create scoring opportunities without runners.

It is true that we need 2 new centres... we also need some new props, a 13.. probably another hooker.

It's unfortunate that the first team squad has been allowed to get to this point... Its been totally mismanaged.

Our centres are a concern.

I think TKing will easily become a top SL centre but he's out of his depth at the moment. But he will be our answer to left centre. And for me Ratchford should be our right centre. He's not a specialist FB or half and I think his best performances are at C.

A good TKing and Ratch at in the Cs look good for me.

Currie (will be better as he'll be more experienced) and Hughes (athletic, fast) will be a good second row pairing next season. With Westwood to add experience and minutes to that.

We desperately need Grix back at Loose.

Loose is such an important position. It's not just a third prop. 13 is a specialist position (or should be) that ties in with the ball handling and running of the game with 1, 6, 7 and 9. Grix gives us that. But a spiral fracture of the leg isn't a pulled hamstring so it's not like we can rush him back. We miss Grix immensely! I actually wouldn't have minded seeing Ratchford there at times this season; that's where Wigan fans see him as O'Loughlan's long term replacement (but as I said above is like to see him at C for us).

But as you say, currently, Atkins isn't good enough. Bridge hasn't been good enough of late and Monaghan won't be good enough there next season (he's gone for me, past it), and I'm not sure REvans is a right C.

By the end of next season I want to see TKing and Ratch as our Centres!
