Just for those of you who think you can flout the road traffic laws. If you get caught, no moaning please.

We have similar problems around us where all the roads are 20mph. The worst road is the one outside the local primary school, and the worst culprits are (usually) Mums getting their kids to school. Combine that speed with the amount of cars, especially people carriers and a couple of 'Chelsea Tractors', that park on both sides of the road including the yellow zig zags, and it's a tragedy waiting to happen.

20mph limits are there for a reason, and IMO those that break the limit in a 20 should be punished far more severely than speeding elsewhere on the roads.

I've had problems on that stretch of road myself, sticking to the 20mph speed limit actually feels more dangerous due to the number of idiotic [censored] who not only feel they have a right to overtake, but that they have the right to do it on bends when they cannot see what is coming the other way, I nearly saw an audi plough head on in to oncoming traffic near DRB the first time I went down there after the 20mph speed limit was put in effect.

Nowadays I specifically avoid that road and go another route instead, it is far easier and less stressful.

Couldn't agree more lad.

Cash cow!! Wish they'd concentrate more on catching actually criminals as opposed to traffic offences. The most serious offences of driving without insurance, mot, tax etc are less policed than speeding.

Is it more serious to not pay tax when someone's child is killed by someone breaking the speed limit?

A child being hit and killed by a car is more carelessness on both parties parts rather than it being through the speed of the driver. I am not saying speed rules, I'm not a 'speedster' I usually drive bang on the limit but speed camera's iritate me. Most of them are on major a-roads, expressways, motorways etc, not usually the place designed to prevent them running over children is it?
