"I know what he is going through," said Lowes, whose disappointment with Warrington over his demotion has been evident. "I went through it at the start of the year. The club decided to make a change after three games with me but it is good the board there are staying loyal to Steve."

He added: "It's nice to see them sticking to their guns and being loyal because at the moment in British sport that doesn't seem to be the way to go.

I dont know if there is a thread on this already but I read this last night and was very annoyed when reading it. It wasnt three games at all it was much more. I think he needs to be removed from the club. Just my opinion.

So you think the club should remove Tony Smiths preferred choice of assistant coach, and impose somebody onto him?

Didn't Andy Gatcliffe say that Smith was the 'Head Honcho' and would make all the decisions on coaching and playing staff and the board would support him to the hilt....?

When Keegan went back to Newcastle the board imposed Dennis Wise on him and it never worked properly.

I think we will see Lowes quietly leave at the end of his contract this season.

Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

Why? Smith saw something in Lowes to offer a part in the GB setup.

He was a young British coach with experience of playing for GB too, ideal for the GB coaching set up.

Not necessarily the same attributes needed for a SL assistant coach - which to be honest could be anyone of any former playing standard or nationality.

I agree with the previous poster that James Lowes will leave once his contract comes to an end.
