Warrington Wizards v Great Britain Community Lions Under 18s : Thu Feb 26, 2009 9:53 am
Warrington Wizards have a pre-season friendly this coming Saturday (23rd February) against the Great Britain Community Lions Under 18s. Kick off is 2.00pm at Wilderspool Stadium.
The Wizards are taking the opportunity of getting in some much needed match practice before the commencement of The Co-operative Rugby League Conference National Season at the beginning of April and are delighted to be able to play against a side that are sure to have many stars of the future on show. The GB Community Lions were defeated by their French counterparts in an absorbing encounter in Wales last week and will also be using the game as a stepping stone to their tour to Australia in August. Wizards Player/Coach Alan Kilshaw is looking forward to putting all the work done in training into practice out on the field. He said, “It will be good for us to get some game time under our belts. We have a lot of new faces this season and it will be useful to see how then gel together in a match environment. The Community Lions Under 18s are a quality side and will provide us with a very stern test which should be ideal preparation for our league campaign.” Further information on the Wizards can be obtained from club administrator Dave Whalley on 01925 837829, e-mail to warringtonwizards@hotmail.com or by logging onto the club website at www.warringtonwizards.org.uk for all of the latest news. |
